Help wanted
CfgMgmtCamp Ansible Booth volunteers

Call for Volunteers: Join the Ansible Booth at CfgMgmtCamp 2026!
Hi everyone!
As we gear up for CfgMgmtCamp and the Ansible Contributor Summit in Ghent this February, we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us staff the Ansible booth!
The booth is the heart of our presence at the event—it’s where we meet new users, help contributors troubleshoot issues, and showcase the amazing work happening across the ecosystem. Whether you’re a long-time contributor, a Red Hatter from a neighboring team, or a power user who loves talking automation, we’d love to have you on board.
What’s involved?
You don’t need to be an expert in every single Ansible sub-project! We just need friendly faces to:Engage with visitors: Answer general questions about Ansible and its latest features (EDA, AAP, etc.).
Share the love: Hand out swag and point people toward the Contributor Summit or specific tracks.
Grow the community: Help folks find their local meetups or sign up for the Forum.
When?
We need coverage for the duration of CfgMgmtCamp. Shifts are usually 2 hours long so that you still have plenty of time to attend talks and enjoy the conference.
Why volunteer?
It’s a great way to network with the wider automation community. You’ll get an “inside look” at what users are actually building (and struggling with).
Our eternal gratitude (and perhaps some exclusive booth-crew swag!).
How to sign up
If you’re interested in helping out, please reply to this forum thread or reach out to @gundalow or me directly on Matrix. Let us know:Which day(s) you’ll be around.
Let’s make this the best Ansible booth yet!
Galaxy mirroring discussion
mariolenz shared
Unfortunately, galaxy has been down a couple of days ago. Since the question came up what to do in this case, there’s a discussion on mirroring / proxy caching galaxy now. Please let us know how you do this, if you do this. Or if you’re looking for a way to do it, check the discussion and see if you can find a solution there that might work for you.

Contributor Summit planning
Oranod said
We’re really excited about the upcoming Contributor Summit as part of CfgMgmtCamp in Ghent. Ahead of the day, I wanted to share part of the agenda for my session on Weds morning. During the session I want to provide the community with an update and overview on the Community and Partner Engineering team at Red Hat.
After that portion, my team and I would like to have a discussion with everyone in the room and online about our goals for 2026. When we get back from Ghent our plan is to collaboratively define our roadmap for the year ahead. It’s important that we hear from the community and clearly understand issues and pain points that we can add to our roadmap and prioritize against other work.
We really want to use this session as an opportunity to hear from contributors and get your suggestions and feedback. With this in mind, we’re inviting everyone to share their thoughts and provide direct input to the work that the community team will undertake in 2026.
To facilitate this discussion we’ve prepared some slides and talking points around the following high-level goals:
- Focus on content quality
- Improve content discovery and user adoption
- Reduce maintainer burden
- Act as open source champions
If you are planning to attend Contributor Summit, whether in-person or online, we ask that you come prepared to discuss these goals and provide us with suggestions on specific pieces of work that align with each goal. We’re hoping for a really fruitful discussion to identify and prioritize work that will benefit the community and help us empower Ansible contributors.
To do this, we really need to hear from you. So please start giving our high-level goals some thought and come prepared to tell us what YOU want to see us work on in the year ahead.
You can find out more about CfgMgmtCamp and our plans for Contributor Summit in the forum. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Ghent!
