Proposal: Closing the Ansible Network Slack instance
Following on from Proposal: Consolidating Ansible discussion platforms, we are considering what to do with the Ansible Network Slack instance (which you’ve likely never heard of).As the Forum has critical mass of people, and the Ansible Network slack instance is very quiet, we are proposing archiving the Slack instance, and bring everybody to network part of the Forum.
Major new releases
Ansible Community Package
The Ansible
package includes ansible-core
and is a batteries-included package that provides a curated set of Ansible collections. See the Ansible roadmaps for future release plans.
Ansible 12 beta
gotmax23 shared
Ansible 12.0.0b3 package (pre-release) is here!
Release announcement: Ansible community package 12.0.0b3 (Pre-Release)
You can install it by running the following command:
python3 -m pip install ansible==12.0.0b3 --user
Check Release Notes
and Ansible 12 Porting Guide for more details!
Please note that Ansible 12.0.0 is delayed due to important parts of ansible.netcommon and several network connections not working with ansible-core 2.19 right now. For that reason, we decided to keep publishing beta releases until ansible.netcommon is fixed, and stopped feature freeze until then to avoid other collections becoming stale. Also Ansible 12.0.0 will depend on ansible-core 2.19.1 (or whichever version is released by then), instead of ansible-core 2.19.0. See this forum thread for more information.
