community.digitalocean coffin-bound and unmaintained
mariolenz contributed
As already mentioned in Bullhorn #203, it looks like community.digitalocean is unmaintained. At the end of the day, it turns out that it really is ATM. If nobody turns up taking over the maintenance of (a fork of) this collection, we will start a vote on removing it from the Ansible Community Package soon.
ansible.core 2.20 code hauntings and deprecations
mariolenz contributed
If you are maintaining a collection, please be aware that ansible-core 2.20 will deprecate some code. You should see some of those deprecations in your CI because they make the sanity tests fail, but not all. If you want to spare your users seeing deprecation warnings that they can’t fix themselves in their playbooks, please have a look at this!

community.docker bone rattling

community.docker 5.0.0-a1 ( community.docker/CHANGELOG.md at main · ansible-collections/community.docker · GitHub ), community.docker 4.8.2 ( community.docker/CHANGELOG.md at stable-4 · ansible-collections/community.docker · GitHub ), and community.docker 3.13.10 ( community.docker/CHANGELOG.md at stable-3 · ansible-collections/community.docker · GitHub ) have been released. The 3.13.10 release is the final 3.x.y release; community.docker 3.x.y is now End of Life. The release contains a few last bugfixes. The 4.8.2 release also contains these bugfixes and is the latest stable release. 5.0.0-a1 is a pre-release for 5.0.0, which will likely be released in a week, in time for Ansible 13’s feature freeze. It drops support for ansible-core 2.16 and before, and thus for Python 2.7 on the target. A lot of code modernization happened, but there should be no user-facing changes except the announced breaking changes following deprecations, and some bugfixes. Please check out the 5.0.0-a1 changelog for more details ( community.docker/CHANGELOG.md at main · ansible-collections/community.docker · GitHub ).
