Good day. “Older days” ansible galaxy user here, have couple of roles published including namespace where I publish it.
Used github to login, but on recent session expire no longer can do it.
Login form asks for creds (uname/password), from which I know only username
Also have doubts, if old galaxy website was storing the emails for github accounts
Do you have a path to restore github login option, if not process to get access back to the account by recovering access to pre-existing account ?
Galaxy just uses GitHub logins. Login to github.com first. If you do not know the password to your @voronenko github id, then click “Forgot Password” and follow the steps to recover your github.com account. Once you’re logged into GitHub, you can login to galaxy.ansible.com, and the only thing it may do is ask for authorization, once authorized, you will be logged in automatically with your cached github login session.
Well perhaps I was lucky to come on unstable state of deployment.
As of now login link for sure goes via github, although at the moment of original post there was clear form based auth screen from galaxy itself asking for username and password.
Interesting, I suppose it makes sense the vanilla login would exist for super user access, but that’s definitely not where the login link should normally direct you to.
If you were successfully able to login with your github auth and access your role/collection namespaces, please mark the thread as closed. Otherwise, you can ping the @ galaxy group for further technical support.
