Iām pretty sure that community.vmware works with the latest pyvmomi package. I think since 5.7.1. Or with vcf-sdk since 6.0.0, respectively.
But it looks like some people have problems there (see here, here and here).
It would be great to get some feedback from people who are using this combination. Does it work for you or not? Please let me know! Especially if you see any problems there. Although it would be also great to hear from people that it works for them 
The question is if pyvmomi / vcf-sdk 9.0.0.0 broke things for you, not if you run into issues that already existed with earlier versions. This would be a different discussion.
