Ansible Galaxy: how to request a custom namespace

No need to request a namespace that matches your Galaxy username

You don’t need to request a new namespace that matches your Galaxy username: it’ll get created automatically upon your first login. For example, if I log in to Galaxy using my GitHub profile Andersson007, I’ll receive a Galaxy namespace Andersson007 where I can publish my content.

Request a custom namespace

To request a custom namespace (often corresponds to a GitHub org or project name):

  1. Review the namespace limitations.
  2. Review the naming recommendations.
  3. Verify that your desired namespace does not already exist. If the namespace does exist, check if there are collections under it and if there are namespace owners. It is possible to take over existing namespaces if there are no collections and owners.
  4. Log in to this forum.
  5. Submit a request using the Galaxy namespace request form.
