Hi all,
I think I have to apologize for my previous email sent to the mailing
list: it was not supposed to appear as SPAM, so if this is what's
happened then I wrote the wrong message to the wrong mailing list, I
will try to elaborate better the next time.
The reason why we sent the announcement is that elasticluster is using
ansible *a lot*: it's basically a thin python layer on top of ansible
playbooks that allows you to easily create various kind of clusters of
machines, and the idea was to have playbooks that can be used also
independently from elasticluster. In fact, they are stored on a
separate github repository:
https://github.com/gc3-uzh-ch/ansible-playbooks/ ("cloud" branch)
Of course, we do not intend to send an email for each release (that,
would be spam :)), but since this is the *first public release* of
elasticluster we wanted to let the ansible community know, because we
think they can benefit from both elasticluster or just the playbooks,
and because we think the ansible community could be interested in
contributing as well.
Also, we think ansible is a very nice piece of software and allowed us
to make a very modular, neat, software (in our opinion), so we wanted
to share what we were able to do thanks to it.
