Red Hat Satellite as Code: Declarative YAML and GitOps

In this session, we’ll introduce a community-driven initiative for managing Red Hat Satellite using Configuration as Code (CaC) and GitOps principles. By representing Satellite resources—such as organizations, content views, activation keys, and host groups—as structured YAML through the infra.satellite_configuration Ansible collection, teams can version-control, review, and automate their entire Satellite configuration. We’ll explore how this declarative approach simplifies day-to-day operations, improves consistency, and enables infrastructure to be managed in a scalable and repeatable way.

I’ve attached the slides for Bringing Satellites Down to Earth_ Implementing Configuration as Code for Red Hat Satellite.pdf (1.0 MB) for reference.

Slides are saying “Access Denied”!

Slides work for me!

Very sad I missed the event, extremely happy that I found this post!
The filetree approach is exactly what was missing in our current config as code setup

NM, these were internally blocked at work!

Hi,
I’ve uploaded the slides directly into the Forum, so everybody should be able to see them now.
