We made a mistake and are sorry

Healthy discussion is one of the most important factors in the success of any open source community. At Ansible, we work hard to ensure that all of the conversations that happen in our community spaces are respectful, positive, and goal-oriented. Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, we make mistakes.

Earlier today, a thread was deleted from the Ansible-devel discussion group. An archive of the deleted thread can be found here:

http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.sysutils.ansible.devel/284

Deleting this thread was a mistake made in haste, and we are sorry for it.

We deeply value our community, which has thousands of participants. We will continue to build a respectful, positive, goal-oriented community, and to provide the best experience possible to the hundreds of thousands of Ansible users around the world.

Thank you Michael! Thank you Ansible community! There will be more mistakes (I speak for myself ;), and I wish we’ll best collaborate to solve them.

I was wondering where that went. It certainly registered that the thread was removed, although it wasn’t clear that you removed it yourselves.

Thank you for your honesty clearing this up.

For what it’s worth, I’d like to add that I feel heard when placing critical questions even though I don’t agree with all the answers. I’ve only ever experienced the respectful, positive and goal-oriented attitude. I’d like to extend my thanks for that as well
