PROJECT UPDATES :hammer_and_wrench:

AWX Project :arrow_upper_right:

AWX provides a web-based user interface, REST API, and task engine built on top of Ansible. Join the AWX discussion in the Ansible Community Forum.

Reminder that the AWX operator is being removed from OperatorHub.io | The registry for Kubernetes Operators. As a result, it will no longer be possible to install the AWX operator via the OLM catalog. The OLM subscription resource for this operator will also be unhealthy. Please take action to update any dependencies you might have on this installation method. To find out more, or give us feedback, please check out the recent forum post that explains the decision behind this change. You can also comment directly on the pull request to remove the AWX operator.

Heads up for users of the AWX operator helm chart. As we mentioned in a recent forum post, we’ve relocated the chart to ansible-community/awx-operator-helm. Please update any dependencies you have on the chart url to point to the new location: awx-operator Helm charts | awx-operator-helm

If you have questions or notice any problems, please let us know by posting in the forum or opening an issue in the new chart repo. Thanks and happy helming!

COLLECTION UPDATES :magic_wand:

As mentioned in The Bullhorn, we consider netapp_eseries.santricity an effectively unmaintained collection. Therefore, we’ve opened a community / steering committee vote on removing it from the Ansible Community Package 12.

Please note that you can still manually install the collection with ansible-galaxy collection install netapp_eseries.santricity even when it has been removed from the Ansible Community Package.

community.docker 3.12.0 (community.docker/CHANGELOG.md at main · ansible-collections/community.docker · GitHub) has been released with several bugfixes and new features. One notable feature is support for Docker Compose 2.29.0’s JSON stream progress writer, which should make parsing Compose’s output less shaky.

HELP WANTED

Call for community maintainers! We recently announced plans to relocate the helm chart for the AWX operator. The helm chart code is now available from the ansible-community/awx-operator-helm repository.

We’re looking for maintainers in the Ansible community to contribute towards the ongoing updates and improvements to the helm code. There’s a lot to do already, including setting up a new docsite and refactoring CI jobs. If you want to get involved, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch by responding to the forum post or opening an issue in the new repo. Cheers!

PROPOSALS - DISCUSS AND VOTE! :ballot_box:

Ansible Community Package :arrow_upper_right:

The Ansible package includes ansible-core and is a batteries-included package that provides a curated set of Ansible collections. See the Ansible roadmaps for future release plans.
