I don’t know where I should make this request, but we need to remove an accidentally published version of a collection from Ansible Galaxy that can’t be removed manually.
Namespace: zxbot
Collection name: carbonio_install
Version: 25.12.0
URL: Ansible Galaxy
Reason for deletion: The version was published by mistake and contains invalid data.
As a quick’n’dirty fix so people don’t run into problems, can’t you do a bugfix release 25.12.1? This would mean 25.12.0 would be still online, but your users would have a way to install a version without invalid data. Just an idea.
Overall, we do need a better process for this, but we don’t get a lot of deletion requests. I also have the fuzzy feeling that an admin of the namespace could have been able to delete this on their own. Do you know who the admin is for your namespace?
The administrator was a bot, and since I couldn’t find a deletion option via the CLI, and also found information that deleting collections wasn’t possible, I submitted this request. Thank you so much for responding to my request so quickly.
