Introducing AnsibleWorks

Hi everyone,

By now you may have seen this post on GigaOM:

http://gigaom.com/2013/03/05/ansibleworks-pitches-new-open-source-it-configuration-management/

So yes, we've started a company around Ansible! (I'll be CTO, and my
colleagues are some amazing Open Source veterans who really grok the
project
and where we are going with it. I am hugely excited and you will see
more from Tim and Saïd here in the near future).

I want to thank each and every one of you for all the great things
we've done together over the last year or so. You have all made this
an amazing experience,
and I think it will only continue to get more amazing. It has been
fantastic getting to know each and every one of you.

You may be asking how this affects the project! Things will be just
as community oriented as they always were. We're just turning it all
up to 11.

We're going to be doing some exciting things in the near future --
funding the development of new products in the ecosystem, training
events, and even an AnsibleFest
in Boston this June. More on this later!

If you would like to, you can read some blogs from us about launching
things at http://blog.ansibleworks.com/.

The website for the company is http://ansibleworks.com/ and you can
follow us on twitter at https://twitter.com/ansibleworks

I'd be more than happy to answer questions, and if you would like to
contact me you can do so on this address or also
michael@ansibleworks.com

Even more fun times are ahead!

Thank you everyone for making this possible!

Grats on company!

Wonder if my boss would let me expense ansiblefest…

Thanks!

I hope so, we are going to keep it very affordable!

I hope so, we are going to keep it very affordable!

Probably not affordable enough for members of the 'European Division'
(and other continental divisions, of course), but enjoy nevertheless

Congratulations!

heh yea, maybe us europeans can organise a get together? still enjoy!

Jimmy

Definitely, please do.

I suspect we'll have a AnsibleFest in Europe next year too, but don't
let that hold you up!

I assume there will be schwag at said conf?

I'm not sure what your t-shirts will look like. But they better be WEBSCALE.

Awesome news, congrats!

Congrats Michael, Tim, and Saïd! Well deserved!

Great news! I can’t even keep track of versions b/c there’s so much development, and now there is an organization/business behind it…breakneck speed. Hopefully ansible stays simple but powerful, which I’m sure it will.

Congrats man! Good on you!

AnsibleFest? SO THERE!!! (I will bring beer and more friends… with more beer!)

And wenches… We need wenches… A lot of wenches

Could do something in dublin

Coming from the colder regions in Europe, I'd prefer Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy or Malta myself

BTW Congratz Michael, another argument against Ansible is now off the table: Enterprise support !

Thanks !

Having looked at the list of talks and tutorials I was under the impression that AnsibleFest-EU was in Newcastle (its not sunny!) in less than 2 weeks!

Cheers

Great news!

This is great to see and congrats to all the folks involved. This will really help push continued adoption of the tool. Dare I say the project is already a bit of a rocketship in this regard.
