Ansible Forum?

Hi all. I’m wondering if there is any interest in an ansible forum, as an alternative to a mailing list.

Forums (Fora?) are nice because they let you categorize conversations for later readers. This helps keep repetitive questions under control and makes it easier for dumb folks like me to search for solutions.

I’m working on configuring my bind dns setup with ansible, and I’m sure tons of folks have already done that. I can search the mailing list and paw through old conversations. In a forum, there could be a section for “Things You Configured with Ansible” (okay, that’s a terrible name) and under that another section for “DNS” and possibly another under that for “BIND”.

Also, if I find an old conversation in a mailing list and I want to contribute to it for future users, it’s kindof weird to send that contribution to the mailing list. “Here’s my 2 cents on that problem you had 3 years ago! Hope you find it helpful!”

If there is interest in such a thing, I might be able to set it up. Let me know if you think it’s a good idea.

Thanks everyone!

Seconding the separation between hacking *on* ansible (this list) and
community support for *using* ansible.

Another option, possibly better than a forum if well tended to, is a
custom stackoverflow-like with OSQA or similar.

Forums don’t reduce any concept of questions being reasked, but instead create another extra place to find things.

I think the list is working out pretty well.

This is actually a user’s list, not just a development list.

And no, I don’t want to split the two, and it’s quite frustrating to think of having to do that.
