The Ansible Contributor Summit is a full day working session especially for community contributors to interact with one another, as well as with Ansible development teams (Core, AWX, Galaxy etc.). We will discuss important issues affecting the Ansible contributor community to help shape the future of Ansible, with a focus on improving collaboration with our contributors.
We will have a mini conference in the morning with presentations, and join the rest of DjangoCon in the afternoon for sprinting and hacking.
Registration: please select the ticket for Ansible Contributor Summit + Sprint (Thursday Oct 19)when you register for DjangoCon.
Cost: The Ansible Contributor Summit is free and can be selected independently, you only need to pay for DjangoCon tickets if you are interested in attending DjangoCon itself, which we recommend you do if you are a Django developer.
COVID-19 Policy: Please refer to DjangoCon’s COVID-19 In-Person Policy. As we are part of DjangonCon’s Sprints, we will adhere to the same policy. DjangoCon will provide masks and test kits on-site if you are unable to obtain them in advance.

@tima, What’s New and Ahead with Ansible Automation Development Tools, ~45 minutes
This talk will go over the Ansible automation developer tools for the community, what is the roadmap and work underway. To begin I’ll briefly cover what it means to be an Ansible automation developer and the existing tools available to the community for creating content. The talk will continue with an updated look at new releases such as Molecule 6 and what lies ahead for the Ansible automation developer experience in the coming months and years.
Do we need to purchase actual tickets for the main event in order to attend the 19th sprints/contrib summit? I would like to go but I don’t use Django and so I don’t really have any interest in attending the sessions on the other days.
We are sharing the tickets Platform, but you can pick the Ansible Contributor free tickets without paying for anything else. Let us know if you have any issues with that!
We will make this more clear! Thank you for raising the issue!
Following up Seth’s talk about hop nodes and inbound connections, will talk about how QE has been testing the Mesh Scaling feature, presenting some scenarios and corner cases
@DesmondSanctity, AWX Operator Documentation, What’s New? ~30 min
The new AWX Operator Docs is live. Join us in discussing how we used the Community Writers’ effort to make this a success—the process, contributions, and how everything summed up to the new documentation.
Abstract: We will go over the changes to the new http://galaxy.ansible.com. We will talk about the switchover to the galaxy-ng codebase as well as a roadmap of what to expect in the coming weeks. Finally, we’ll discuss how you can keep up to date with the project and how to get involved as a contributor.
Doh, missed the Friday deadline- the whole core team was in Durham last week for our first (nearly) all-hands face-to-face in about 5 years. Too bad we couldn’t get it lined up with the contrib summit!
