A new dedicated category for Ansible Collections development has been created in the Forum. If you are developing a module or plugin, or even a role, join the discussions here in the Collection Development category. You can also share your created collections, request feedback and ask for guidance.

If you are using the shared workflows from GitHub - ansible-community/github-docs-build: GitHub actions and workflows for building Ansible collection documentation. to publish dcumentation to GitHub Pages as described in Getting started with GitHub Pages · ansible-community/github-docs-build Wiki · GitHub, you need to update your workflows, since publishing will no longer work since beginning of this month. See Collection documentation using GitHub Actions: changes to how GH pages can be published for more information.

antsibull-docs 2.12.0 (antsibull-docs/ at main · ansible-community/antsibull-docs · GitHub) has been released with new features and bugfixes. The collection docs linter now informs about unchanged default values copied from the collection_template repository and flags empty markup like C() or I(). Also it is now possible to list the Ansible Forum (or other forums) in the collection’s communication channels (Creating a collection docsite - antsibull-docs – Ansible Documentation Build Scripts).

Hey folks, I’ve just posted an important update about how we will be Streamlining AWX releases.

I would love to hear your feedback, so if you can, please take the time to read that and let us know what you think. Ideally by replying to the Forum Post, though via Matrix is also OK via the channel.

  • Moving AWX to CalVer
  • How we build and distribute AWX
  • Pausing upstream releases
  • How we move common code into shared libraries

Please join the discussion and share your perspective via the Streamlining AWX releases Forum post.

Ansible Pune Meetup: We recently (29th June) hosted the latest Ansible Meetup @ HPE Pune.

The meetup was a great success, with over 40 attendees. We created a lab on Google Cloud Shell, and everyone was able to complete it along with us. Here’s what we covered in the lab:

  • Introduction to Ansible
  • Running Ad-hoc Commands
  • Writing Your First Playbook
  • Using Variables
  • Conditionals, Handlers, and Loops
  • Building Templates

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and everyone enjoyed the hands-on session.
