New Artwork for Matrix Rooms
Hey folks! Back in the summer I asked for help from the Fedora Design team to understand exactly how they produced so many lovely room icons for the #fedora-space:fedoraproject.org space. They were kind enough to go further and help us design our own.
The full details are in this forum post because it’s long and full of images, but in short - we have a “mail-merge” method of using Inkscape, a template, and a CSV of data to produce all the images at once. Repeatable and can be stored in Git (CSV is text after all, and the template won’t change).
Before we start talking to room owners about rolling these out, though, I’d love feedback on the overall style, the base template, etc. - because while we can change one image easily, changing the template would mean replacing them all
Hop over to the topic to give me your thoughts! Meanwhile, here’s a sample
