Mobilize your forces! Ansible user group & blogosphere telethon 2012!

Hey guys,

In the last few months we've really grown by a huge amount, largely by
word of mouth between users. That's great and it has been amazing to
watch. We have greater contribution rates
than some of the other apps that more people use.

Still, if I may ask... let's keep this growing. Let's rescue those
people who don't know about us. If you could do a few of the
following, everyone, this would hugely help me out:

* write a post on your personal or company tech blog about how you are
using things
* consider a talk at a local user group or mini-conference like a BarCamp
* post to twitter or facebook and so on -- these are short lived, so
posting a blog link is even better -- not just links, but about how
you are using things. ansible

Free software is super cheap, and I put an enormous amount of hours in
this (and so do many others, to which I am deeply indebted), so
helping us out a bit with spreading the word to those that haven't
discovered it yet would be greatly appreciated, and definitely helps
find new contributors -- developers, testers, authors, new ideas, etc.
I personally feed on those kinds of interactions
and this is really why I do it. So apologies for sounding a bit like
a PBS telethon, but we need more viewers like you

You are all very very very much appreciated. Thanks!

And let's do this next week after v0.8 is out of the door ?

I will be doing a presentation about Ansible at T-DOSE 2012:

     http://www.t-dose.org/2012/talks/small-introduction-ansible

Where I will be discussing how I designed my Ansible setup for provisioning and systems management, as well as demonstrate the provisioning mechanism.

And let's do this ...

Talk about it now and then both.

Many of our users consume the development branch directly, so it makes
almost no difference.

Yesss!

I've been given 45 minutes in which to do a presentation on Ansible at
the NLUUG conference in November:

Dag and Jan-Piet, do you plan to plan to publish your slide deck after your presentations? If so, that’d be great.

sf

I'm also going to be posting a deck from PyCarolinas in a few weeks.

There is also this rather old one that is more about answering the
"why this thing?" than anything else, and isn't very technical.

BTW, speakerdeck is great because you can just upload PDFs to it,
which means you can build your slides with anything. Recommended.

I hope your release your deck first

I meant Michael.

Shall do, and I'll post back here.
