Dear all,
sorry for the stupid questions, but I’m not able to find a solution by myself.
I would like to create an inventory from my aws account. I configure a source to amazon EC2 and AWX shows me all the hosts that I have turned on, but, they are all “unavailable”. The small switch remain always on “gray ON” and I am not able to execute anything on that hosts.
In my case they are not enable, the switch on the left side remain gray and also the “run command” button remain gray, so I cannot try a ping command to see if the system is really up and running.
…I’m sorry, I see now that I can add my “aws inventory” to a job template and I can invoke my playbook from there. So I can “use” those host. The only thing I think is that the switch on the left that remain gray and also the “run command” that does not let you execute any command on the “host” tab of my new inventory deceives you and let you think that you cannot use the hosts.
…but why, when I download a list of systems from AWS, under the column “host” I found the public IP address of my system and not the name that I give to the system ?
Maybe have I to start my instances specifing some special fields ?
If I try to search using the example that I found under “KEY” button I was not able to find anything. But, If I try to search by IP (or a subpart of it) I can find all the systems that has that IP.
So I can serach inside an Inventory if the host column contains only IP addresses ?
