Host in multiple inventories in ansible, but not in AWX?

With “simple” ansible, a host can exist in multiple inventories, whereas in AWX this does not appear to be working.

Is this how it is supposed to work?

Can you please explain what you mean? A host can exist in different inventories in awx. I just add it in both.
