I’m trying to find the best way to deal with some inventory situations. I pull some servers from Service-Now using the plugin in AWX. This is great. The main groupings I need are good with Prod/Dev etc using Smart Inventories

Where things get tricky is the auth. Some need different credentials. In AWX the Template pairs with an Inventory and credentials.

Using smart inventories I don’t seem to be able to exclude servers from another group, making smart inventory that tries to drill deeper isn’t working because I can’t lock the value for a specific group name. I can icontains or contains but if the value appears in a different group of another name then the server is included

Have you looked into constructed inventory to see if it may suit your use case?

Can constructed inventory exclude groups too or only additive?
