Posting this in case it is useful to anyone else. I use puppet + PuppetDB as well as ansible, love them both. PuppetDB is my most authoritative source of truth for *nix and Windows systems. Just started using AWX and wanted to use the PuppetDB inventory, so I created a bash script that generates JSON needed for AWX inventory, posted here: https://github.com/ryebread157/ansible-awx
