I had the privilege of representing the Ansible Core team this year at CfgMgmtCamp. After such a busy and exhausting week of activity, I find myself strangely rejuvenated and excited in ways I haven’t felt since pre-COVID AnsibleFests. Such a pleasure to once again rub shoulders with hardcore Ansible practitioners who are passionate about their work and their tools, talking over concepts grand and minute, over-the-shoulder debugging real-world automation of every size, and just sharing space talking about the things that excite us.
It’s very gratifying to hear feedback about where things have been going (positive and negative!), and that others are finding value in what we do.
I won’t even try to drop names for the dozens of conversations I had, but I’m returning home with plenty of notes on things we can do better and things we need to try. If you were part of one of those conversations that was cut short or we never got around to, please DM me and we can try to close the loop.
Though CfgMgmtCamp is a relatively small conference, I’d highly recommend it for anyone that can make it. Plenty of great talks, and the hallway track and booth chat were first-rate from my perspective.
I might do some follow-up posts on individual topics in the coming days, but just wanted to express my appreciation to the organizers and attendees that I’ve spent time with this past week for being there and for sharing their unvarnished opinions, problems, and desires. Such a pleasure!
