Was wondering, has anyone ever tried/succeeded to use accelerated mode over an ssh tunnel? My guess is that this wouldn’t be trivial to do, but I thought I would ask before discarding the idea.

accelerated mode is not intended to use SSH, it would defeat the purpose and cease to be accelerated.
If you mean to do this, just use SSH.
