Just got through merging a large portion of the pull request queue.

Just got done merging a lot of the pull request queue.

Check this out, 1.2 has some good stuff in it!

Provisioning – rax (Rackspace cloud)
Packaging – npm (node), pkgng (FreeBSD)

Databases – postgres_priv (PostgreSQL priveledges)
Monitoring – newrelic_deployment
Utilities – set_fact
Notification – hipchat, flowdock, campfire, IRC, mqtt, jabber
Load Balancing – ec2_elb, bigip_pool
Systems – filesystem

This also includes several pages of fixes/tweaks/improvements, new Jinja2 variables in playbooks, roles, pre and post tasks (for rolling updates), playbook logging, and the new ‘when’ statement.

Really cool everyone, thanks very much for all the great work and making this so much fun.

There’s still plenty of time left in 1.2, so if you have any new module ideas, send them along!

BTW, because it’s Saturday, I also just added an “osx_say” module, which allows your OS X machines to talk to you in amusing voices.

This could be very fun if updating a campus lab, or you can use “local_action” to make it speak to your local machine only.

A great way to amuse or annoy fellow coworkers, this is a port of the plugins/callbacks/ osx_say plugin in the source checkout.
