- TOPIC: Core Updates (@sagpaul:matrix.org, 13:02:18)
- INFO: Considering the src attribute in our collections *_config module, a funtionality deprecation is planned. in PR https://github.com/ansible-collections/ansible.netcommon/pull/743
We would be introducing a new attribute in each collections under the config modules that can take in inputs like
tbd_attribute: "{{ lookup('ansible.builtin.template', 'basic/config.j2') }}"So that temlate rendering can be done in a single task. (@sagpaul:matrix.org, 13:07:19)
- INFO: a few attributes are updated as part of cisco.iosxr l3_interfaces module. fix:Updated the flow analyzer and monitor configuration parameter processing by AAYUSH2091 · Pull Request #591 · ansible-collections/cisco.iosxr · GitHub (@sagpaul:matrix.org, 13:08:57)
- INFO: A few template operations are being fixed that impacts filter plugins, fix: Add Ansible 2.19+ compatibility for template handling and filter plugins by KB-perByte · Pull Request #750 · ansible-collections/ansible.netcommon · GitHub (@sagpaul:matrix.org, 13:11:55)
- INFO: network_cli - When I(ssh_type) is set to C(paramiko), the connection plugin now uses an in-collection paramiko implementation instead of loading ansible-core's paramiko connection plugin. This allows network_cli to work with versions of ansible-core, where the paramiko connection plugin was removed. This is done for interset of community where legacy algorithms are needed to connect to applainces. (@sagpaul:matrix.org, 13:13:47)

- INFO: network_cli - The in-collection paramiko support used when ssh_type is paramiko is a compatibility layer for environments where ansible-core's paramiko connection is no longer available. This layer is deprecated and will be removed in a release after 2028-02-01. Migrate to ssh_type=libssh by installing the ansible-pylibssh package.
