We’re thrilled to announce a major development regarding the splunk.es Ansible collection currently hosted on Automation Hub and Galaxy!
1. Ownership Transition
The Red Hat Ecosystem team is officially taking ownership and stewardship of the splunk.es Ansible collection. This marks a commitment to ensuring the collection’s continued health, reliability, and expansion.
2. Immediate Focus: Quality & Stability
We are immediately beginning active work to identify and fix any outstanding issues, bugs, or inconsistencies that may exist within the current collection. Our primary goal is to ensure a stable and high-quality automation experience for all users.
3. Collaboration with Splunk
We are collaborating directly with the Splunk team to gain essential guidance on real-world use cases and best practices. This partnership will help us tailor our development efforts to meet the specific needs of the Splunk community.
4. Share Your Use Cases!
Your feedback is invaluable! If you have specific use cases, requirements, or pain points you’d like us to consider for the splunk.es collection, please post them directly in our GitHub repository:

5. Enhancements: Agent Lifecycle Management
A key area of upcoming focus is the addition of capabilities to automatically manage the lifecycle and issues of Splunk Agents. This will streamline operations and reduce the manual overhead associated with agent deployment and maintenance.
6. Introducing splunk.itsi Collection
In addition to enhancing the splunk.es collection, we will be creating a brand-new collection: splunk.itsi in the near future. This new collection will focus on capabilities to work directly with the IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) features of Splunk, enabling deeper automation within that module. We look forward to your contributions and feedback as we embark on this exciting new phase!
