Perhaps this should go on the ansible-devel list? Apologies if this question doesn’t belong here.
I was looking for a module to manage /etc/hosts, and it turns out that Rene Moser wrote the module (thanks!) and its part of the core, but there is no documentation on the Ansible website.
It got me wondering how often documentation is generated on that site?

I cannot speak to the frequency, however the ‘host’ module was removed before the 1.4 release due to needing to be rethought a little more. This is why you do not see documentation for it.

Yep, it’s going to be added back in a pull request for 1.5 timeframe. I wasn’t comfortable with including it in a production release seeing some issues weren’t resolved at release time. It will come back.
Typically we update on an as-needed basis, approximately once a week is pretty common.
I note that I have some changes I need to push tonight, in fact
