customvalue empty with vmware dynamic inventory

Hello,

I would like to setup a vmware dynamic inventory with vmware_inventory.py (available here https://github.com/ansible/ansible/tree/stable-2.6/contrib/inventory).
When I execute the script, the “customvalue” field is empty. So I am not able to create groups based on custom attributes.

Do you know the reason of that ?

You need to have a valid vmware_inventory.ini in the same directory with your .py script. You can test it like this:

./vmware_inventory.py --refresh-cache --list
