custom ee dns search domain

Haven’t been able to find any information on how to get the custom ee pod to include custom dns search domain, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately due to legacy and a very heterogenous enviroment there is no way to fully create FQDN dynamic inventories for all our jobs. So we need to have the custom ee pod spin up with some default dns search domains for non-fqdn inventories. i’ve looked all over and haven’t found a way to do this. I might be missing something obvious. Before migrating to the new awx-operator/k8 awx, we use dedicated docker container awx and was able to add the dns search domain to the containers that needed them.

Any helpful guide on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. We have no problem with FQDN but with just short name all those jobs fail.

I’ve tried to use the instance group inside awx to add the dnsConfig with the custom ee image but the ee is still not able to be use the short name.

So anyone else have any more suggestion for adding extra search domains to a custom ee ?

We got it work finally with the custom instance group and pod definitions. Got our custom-ee to spin up with a custom dns search domain.
