Ansible Community Execution Environment 2.21.5-2

Hello everyone,

We’re happy to announce the release of Ansible Community Execution Environment Minimal 2.21.5-2 and Ansible Community Execution Environment Base 2.21.5-2!

Supply Chain Security Improvements

Supply chain security has improved significantly in this release:

  • Python dependencies are now generated via uv pip compile with SHA256 hashes. See the example.
  • SBOMs are generated upon release for each Execution Environment image.
  • Released Execution Environments now include SPDX JSON SBOM attestations. See the instructions for how to verify the attestation.

What are Execution Environments?

Read the Getting started with Execution Environments guide to learn how to benefit from running Ansible automation in containers.
