I’ve see several discussions where the “validate\_certs” arg should work (was fixed, [https://github.com/ansible/ansible-modules-extras/issues/2757](https://github.com/ansible/ansible-modules-extras/issues/2757) for example) in order to use self-signed certificates and skip cert validation in ansible 2.2, however I’m still seeing certificate issues when setting “validate\_certs=false”.

localhost | FAILED! =\> {
“changed”: false,
“failed”: true,
“invocation”: {
“module\_args”: {
“hostname”: “172.31.240.202”,
“password”: “VALUE\_SPECIFIED\_IN\_NO\_LOG\_PARAMETER”,
“username”: “root”,
“validate\_certs”: false
},
“module\_name”: “vmware\_vm\_facts”
},
“msg”: “[SSL: CERTIFICATE\_VERIFY\_FAILED] certificate verify failed (\_ssl.c:590)”

Any pointers to how to solve would be much appreciated. I may very well be doing something wrong here…new to ansible in general…

Thanks!
