all,

we are using the ansible debugger and running into some issues -

basically, we are hitting a place where a string is being eval’ed to get another string, ie:

var: “{{ another\_var | user\_filter | user\_filter2 }}”

and it is dying because user\_filter is hitting an error on ‘another\_var’ as input.

therefore, we’d like to see what’s going on with user\_filter here, and would like to reproduce with eval’ing the relevant string.

for example, we can do:

(debug) p “{{ another\_var | user\_filter | user\_filter2 }}”

but that doesn’t run user\_filter or user\_filter2.

so - how can you get the debugger to eval any given ansible statement?

thanks much for any info…
