# Understanding Ansible Surveys

Many people may be unfamiliar with Automation controller and the corresponding upstream project AWX. Here is a super short 1-minute video on how surveys can help out your Ansible automation. This example is for a very simple “run an arbitrary command” on a Cisco IOS switch. We let a user select, from a drop down list, a command they want to run on the network device.
