## General news updates 🔈

### Proposal for community event discussions

[gundalow](https://matrix.to/#/@gundalow:ansible.im) contributed

> Proposal: Consolidating Ansible discussion platforms
>
> We propose moving away from Meetup Pro and using the Ansible Forum for event information and community discussion, with [Pretix](https://pretix.eu/) for registration and ticketing.
>
> - **Event discussions stay in the Ansible community:** agendas, questions, and follow-up live on the Forum, where people can contribute and find them later.
> - **Local updates are opt-in:** people can follow events in the cities they care about through Forum location preferences and city notifications.
> Registration is purpose-built: Pretix handles RSVPs, attendee updates, and check-in, including offline check-in when venue connectivity is unreliable.
> - **The tools are more open to community stewardship:** Pretix is open source, has an API, and can be self-hosted, while the Forum provides a shared place to improve event guidance and processes.
>
> This would give each city a place to plan and share events, while providing organisers with registration and check-in tools. It would also bring event conversations into the Ansible community’s existing spaces, where people can ask questions and share what they learn after an event.
>
> - Where do you currently hear about events (not just Ansible), and what would help you discover events?
> - Would you be OK having to use your Ansible Forum login to RSVP to community events?
> - Meetup Organizers: Is the workflow easy for you?
>
> [We have a proposal](https://forum.ansible.com/t/proposal-replace-meetups-pro-with-ansible-forum-pretix/46485), and we want your feedback before we settle the details.

### ACP discussion after Everpure rename

[mariolenz](https://matrix.to/#/@mariolenz:matrix.org) said

> The `purestorage.flasharray` and `purestorage.flashblade` collections have been renamed to `everpure.flasharray` and `everpure.flashblade`. The Ansible Community Package discussion is considering what to do with the old names and their successors for ACP 15; no decision is recorded in the thread yet. [Join the discussion](https://forum.ansible.com/t/46435).

### RavenDB ACP inclusion requirements

[mariolenz](https://matrix.to/#/@mariolenz:matrix.org) shared

> The [ravendb.ravendb collection may not meet the Ansible Community Package inclusion requirements](https://forum.ansible.com/t/acp-15-0-0a2-possible-violation-of-collection-requirements-from-ravendb-ravendb/46409): its last release was October 30, 2025, and its last sanity test or CI run was June 15, 2026. Sanity tests run against devel but not ansible-core 2.20 or 2.21. The thread author has opened an issue in the collection repository. Maintainers and users are invited to join the discussion.

## Project updates 🛠

### EDA Server Operator activation namespace change

[Kaio Oliveira](https://matrix.to/#/@kaolivei:matrix.org) contributed

> Upstream breaking change in EDA Server Operator: activation-job namespace field removed
>
> [eda-server-operator #373](https://github.com/ansible/eda-server-operator/pull/373) removes the experimental `spec.activation_worker.activation_job_namespace` field introduced by #345. This interface was upstream-only and was never backported to a stable release.
>
> If you tested this field upstream, disable affected activations, verify their runtime resources are cleaned up, remove the field from your EDA CR, and review/remove any target-namespace Role and RoleBinding created by the previous Operator implementation. The field no longer configures activation Jobs to run in a separate namespace.
