**This week in Ansible Community**
_Issue #187, 2025-06-02 ([Past Issues](https://forum.ansible.com/c/news/bullhorn/17))_

Welcome to [The Bullhorn](https://forum.ansible.com/c/news/bullhorn/17), our newsletter for the Ansible Community. If you have any questions or content you’d like to share, you’re welcome to chat with us in the [Ansible Social room on Matrix](https://matrix.to/#/#social:ansible.com), and mention [`newsbot`](https://matrix.to/#/@newsbot:ansible.im) to have your news item tagged for review for the next weekly issue!

## Major new releases 🏆

### Ansible-Core [↗](https://github.com/ansible/ansible)

The `ansible-core` package contains the base engine and a small subset of modules and plugins. To see what’s planned for the next release, look at the [`ansible-core` roadmaps](https://docs.ansible.com/ansible-core/devel/roadmap/ansible_core_roadmap_index.html).

### core-2.19

nitzmahone contributed

> Due to the valuable feedback we continue to receive from our users, the Ansible Core team is extending the 2.19 beta period through June 30. We’ve been learning about less-common use cases that weren’t fully considered in our initial designs and testing, and want to take the time necessary to address them properly. We’re incredibly grateful to our community, and encourage even broader engagement with testing existing content against 2.19 pre-releases.
>
> With the extended beta period, the 2.19.0 release is now scheduled for July 21. Thanks for your patience while we try to ship the best possible 2.19 we can!
