If you have any questions or content you’d like to share, you’re welcome to chat with us in the [Ansible Social room on Matrix](https://matrix.to/#/#social:ansible.com), and mention [`newsbot`](https://matrix.to/#/@newsbot:ansible.im) to have your news item tagged for review for the next weekly issue!

## Major new releases 🏆

### Ansible-Core [↗](https://github.com/ansible/ansible)

The `ansible-core` package contains the base engine and a small subset of modules and plugins. To see what’s planned for the next release, look at the [`ansible-core` roadmaps](https://docs.ansible.com/ansible-core/devel/roadmap/ansible_core_roadmap_index.html).

### Ansible Community Package [↗](https://github.com/ansible-collections)

The `Ansible` package includes `ansible-core` and is a batteries-included package that provides a curated set of Ansible collections. See the [Ansible roadmaps](https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/devel/roadmap/ansible_roadmap_index.html) for future release plans.

It basically contains the Proxmox content from community.general 10.6.0, and requires ansible-core 2.17+ (and thus Python 3.7+) and proxmoxer 2.0.0+. It is currently planned that the Proxmox content in community.general will be removed and replaced by redirects to community.proxmox in community.general 11.0.0. Thanks to everyone involved in getting community.proxmox ready!

### amazon.aws

[Mandar Kulkarni](https://matrix.to/#/@mandkulk:matrix.org) shared

> [amazon.aws 10.0.0](https://github.com/ansible-collections/amazon.aws/tree/10.0.0) has been released with support for the aws\_ssm connection plugin promoted from community.aws, bugfixes, increased minimum boto3/botocore versions, and removed support for Python \< 3.8 and ansible-core \< 2.17. For full details, check out the [changelog](https://github.com/ansible-collections/amazon.aws/blob/10.0.0/CHANGELOG.rst#v10-0-0).

[abuzachis](https://matrix.to/#/@aevelina:ansible.im) shared

> [amazon.aws 9.5.0](https://github.com/ansible-collections/amazon.aws/tree/9.5.0) has been released with several bugfixes and new features for the `route53_info` and `iam_user_info` modules. For full details, check out the [changelog](https://github.com/ansible-collections/amazon.aws/blob/9.5.0/CHANGELOG.rst#v9-5-0).

### community.aws

[Bianca Henderson](https://matrix.to/#/@bhenderson:matrix.org) contributed

> The [community.aws 10.0.0](https://galaxy.ansible.com/ui/repo/published/community/aws/?version=10.0.0) release has been published! In this major release, the `connection/aws_ssm` connection plugin has been fully migrated out of this collection and into `amazon.aws` ([AWS SSM Connection Refactoring & Plugin Promotion](https://forum.ansible.com/t/aws-ssm-connection-refactoring-plugin-promotion/39930)). Playbooks or Inventory using the Fully Qualified Collection Name (FQCN) for this connection plugin should be updated to use `amazon.aws.aws_ssm`. Additionally, `botocore<1.31.0` and `boto3<1.28.0` are no longer supported; most modules will continue to work with older versions of the AWS SDK, however, compatibility with older versions of the SDK is not guaranteed. Check out the [full changelog](https://github.com/ansible-collections/community.aws/releases/tag/10.0.0) for more info on what’s new!

### community.postresql

[andersson007\_](https://matrix.to/#/@andersson007_:matrix.org) contributed

> The [community.postgresql](https://galaxy.ansible.com/ui/repo/published/community/postgresql/) collection version [4.0.0](https://github.com/ansible-collections/community.postgresql/blob/main/CHANGELOG.rst#v400) has been released!
> Because, among other changes, a few features were removed in the release, please read the [changelog](https://github.com/ansible-collections/community.postgresql/blob/main/CHANGELOG.rst#v400) carefully to learn what to use instead.
> Thanks to everyone involved in the release!
