# ssh key authentication fails on a new AWX Instance

Hello AWX Team,

I’m unable to run a simple ping command on a new instance of AWX

Setup is on AWS

AWX 15.0.1

Ansible 2.9.14

Docker version 19.03.13, build 4484c46d9d

Steps followed:

1\> Install AWX using the Docker-Compose option  
2\> login using default credentials  
3\> click on credentials  
4\> create a new machine credential  
5\> Paste the ssh PRIVATE key  
save it  
6\> Click on Inventory  
7\> click on Demo Inventory  
8\> add a new host  
9\> click on the host then press run command  
10\> use the ping module  
11\> choose the credential that was created earlier  
12 \> Fails with the error:
