# SFTP and SCP errors when trying to ping my cisco IOSv on Eve-NG

Good day good peoplem  
I am doing my labs on EVE-NG and its the time to practice what i have studied, This is the error I am getting when trying to use a ping module. I am sure there will be more errors, or there is more deadly errors in my system, but for now I want to sort out this SFTP and SCP error. I believe the first issue is, my images are old.  
Would someone please guide on how to fix this, I an running ubuntu on VMWARE.

I can’t help you there. Anyway, just because you’re running EVE-NG on VMware vSphere / ESXi this doesn’t make it a VMWARE problem. So please don’t tag it like this.

However, I guess people who _could_ help you might want more information. For example, what do you want to achieve and maybe the task in your playbook that fails.

@ssbipa6, try running scp between and the ubuntu vm first with -v, then try again with python .venv, then again within Ansible. I just completed a SCP IOS transfer role, and encountered that error as well, but outside scope eve-ng but still in ubuntu than migrated to a rhel9 with podman ee solution. Also, make sure you add your python path to your ansible.cfg too once you get the scp to vm piece work and start introducing the ansible part.
