# Release announcement: ara 1.8.0

Hi everyone,

I am happy to celebrate the project’s 10th anniversary with the release of ara 1.8.0.

Full release notes are available on [Codeberg](https://codeberg.org/ansible-community/ara/releases/tag/1.8.0) and a compilation of all past release notes are in the [documentation](https://ara.readthedocs.io/en/latest/changelog-release-notes.html).

This new release is the first to include the optional MCP server which I’ve talked about at [CfgMgmtCamp last February](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvMmCr8Ho4c) and followed up [here on the forum](https://forum.ansible.com/t/asking-a-local-llm-about-my-ansible-playbooks-because-why-not/45313).

It is also the first one to feature a brand new Prometheus exporter for Ansible metrics which I have been working on for over 3 years now. The results are worth it !
