Just saw the following announcement regarding orphaned EPEL packages:

[https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/epel-announce/2014-November/000032.html](https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/epel-announce/2014-November/000032.html)

Note that python-boto is on the list of packages to be retired by Dec 17th 2014.

I have no idea what python-boto does, by it seems to be required for the ec2 modules that I’ve just started using.

Anyone keen to put their hand up to maintain that on EPEL?

It's only orphaned for EPEL 5. Ansible requires EL 6 or later on the control
machine (the one that would be using boto).

Ah that's a relief. Once less thing to worry about on a day of
worries. Thanks for the clarification Bill.
