Hello everyone,

Unless there is some higher order thing going on which I’m not familiar with, I think something bad happened to the openshift example ( [https://github.com/ansible/ansible-examples/tree/master/openshift](https://github.com/ansible/ansible-examples/tree/master/openshift) ).

The files ec2.yml and ec2\_remove.yml don’t even begin with the usual ‘—’ and (judging from a diff) the folder openshift\_ec2 appears to mostly be a duplicate of its parent with some modified documentation and a newer version of ansible required. I tried to look at the commits but I didn’t see any illuminating comments or anything.

Thank you,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks for letting us know. We'll take a look and see what is going on there.

This is not actually required in YAML documents, BTW.

Hi Mark,

I checkout the repo and ran the openshift ec2 playbook and it seems to be running fine, could you please let us know what is the issue that you are facing while running these playbooks. A debug output would also be helpful -vvv.

Regards,
Benno

This was why I started my original message with a disclaimer. 😃

I don’t have a technical problem with using the example, I just thought a commit had gone awry or something. Now that I’ve looked at it a few times I’m assuming what transpired was that there was a newer version of the example and the older version was still desirable to keep, so it was just moved into a subfolder. I was initially confused to have one entire version of the example inside another newer version, one ‘openstack’ one ‘openstack\_ec2’ (even though AFAICT both can do ec2). Wasn’t sure whether one was a dependency of the other or what, and it started to look like an in-place update/commit to the example had gone wrong.

I do personally think makes the example a little more confusing but I wouldn’t have posted just for the sake of saying so. Thanks for the responses and sorry for stirring things up for nothing.

Thank you,
Mark
