Hello - just installed my first Ansible Tower instance (Ansible 2.8.0, Tower 3.4.3) on a fresh install of RHEL 7.6. Everything seems normal - creating users, inventories, hosts, etc. The one problem I’ve run into is when trying to create credentials (“Resources → Credentials”) , the “Credential Type” field is blank; there is no drop-down choice of options here. From what I can tell this is supposed to be populated with all sorts of credential types - AWS, RHEL, VMWare hosts, etc. This is also validated by checking in the “Administration → Credentials Types” area, everything is blank here.

Is this expected behavior - I’m supposed to go create all these credential types? Is there some script / other process to populate default credential types?

Thanks,
Tim

Thanks for the reply - rookie mistake on my part. I was expecting a drop-down (or pop-up) box of options, but everything works if I just type in the Credential type - the rest of the inputs for that credential type automatically show up once I do something like manually type in “Network” or something like that.

Thanks!

Tim

Yes, you need to prepare inventory file that should have all ansible tower console and database user name and password.
