# It is not possible to mark a role as obsolete

Hi all,

I have transferred some roles to a collection and no longer maintain the roles.

I would now like to mark these roles as deprecated / non-maintained.

Currently I could only delete them, but this would not be backward compatible.

The roles are also still displayed in the Galaxy.

Here it would be really useful to enable and display an obsolete flag. Or to completely prevent a download.

That would be very useful indeed. It is possible for collections, but apparently not for roles…

(For my single role on Galaxy, for some reason it even took an older version of the README and description, so it doesn’t even say it’s deprecated in the README and description… 🤷)
