# Inventory shows different host counts

My project has “inventory” directory, in which I have 3 files for various environments.

If I create separate inventories for each of those files, in total I would have 283 hosts.

But if I import inventory as a folder “inventory/”, that contains those 3 files, then total number of hosts is 280.

I think there may be duplicate hosts but how can I debug this, please advise.

There’s a known issue with host counts not adding up. Not sure if this covers your specific scenario, but also wouldn’t be surprised if they were related:
