Hey all,

Could someone please help me out with an issue we are now seeing. We raised an issue on the github page ([https://github.com/ansible/ansible/issues/71394](https://github.com/ansible/ansible/issues/71394)) where we are seeing different results since 2.9.10 where what we had no longer works. In the issue someone made a post of how variables work, and then the ticket was closed as a “misunderstanding” on how the feature works, but as stated this worked prior to 2.9.10.

I can try and explain a little further here on what we are trying to achieve if required, and the test code i used is on the github page.

Any help is appreciated if this is a misunderstanding, or if the change from 2.9.9 has fixed a loophole and how we can now get around the issue?

Thanks,

Andy
