This discussion started at [Collections requirements for role or playbook-focused collections? · Issue #127 · ansible-collections/overview · GitHub](https://github.com/ansible-collections/overview/issues/127) back in 2020
Then moved to [Role or playbook-focused collections: include in the Ansible or not? If yes, which criteria/requirements to use? · Issue #197 · ansible-community/community-topics · GitHub](https://github.com/ansible-community/community-topics/issues/197) last year… but still hasn’t resolved.

My request is we resolve this one way or another (and perhaps a vote to say it’s agreed)?

We discussed how to continue with this at today’s community meeting, with the following conclusion:

We will consider this when needed - so far, all collections included in the Ansible package have additional components, not just roles.

(If anyone, especially from SC, insists on having this discussion now, please restart it with a concrete proposal.)
