# \[Contributing\] - Setting up your development environment

Hi,

I really want to contribute to this project and want to investigate this issue : [https://github.com/ansible/awx/issues/11243](https://github.com/ansible/awx/issues/11243)

After reading the contribution guide here : [https://github.com/ansible/awx/blob/devel/CONTRIBUTING.md#setting-up-your-development-environment](https://github.com/ansible/awx/blob/devel/CONTRIBUTING.md#setting-up-your-development-environment)

I’m not really sure how to setup correctly my development environment.

Should I do the both steps :

2. [https://github.com/ansible/awx/blob/devel/CONTRIBUTING.md#build-and-run-the-development-environment](https://github.com/ansible/awx/blob/devel/CONTRIBUTING.md#build-and-run-the-development-environment)

Or only the steps 2 ?

In the issue I open I suppose I have to debug Python and may be Javascript.

I’ll use Visual Studio Code. Is it good ?
