Hey all,

I’m having an issue using the aws\_ec2 inventory plugin and I can’t seem to find a solution.

`

ansible 2.8.1
config file = /home/jwallace/nxt-devops/ansible/ansible.cfg
configured module search path = [u’/home/jwallace/.ansible/plugins/modules’, u’/usr/share/ansible/plugins/modules’]
ansible python module location = /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/ansible
executable location = /usr/bin/ansible
python version = 2.7.13 (default, Sep 26 2018, 18:42:22) [GCC 6.3.0 20170516]

`

production.aws\_ec2.yml

`

plugin: aws\_ec2
aws\_profile: production
cache: no
regions:

- us-east-1

`

~/.aws/credentials

`
[default]
aws\_access\_key\_id =
aws\_secret\_access\_key =

[production]
aws\_access\_key\_id = VALUE
aws\_secret\_access\_key = SECRET

`

Running on Debian Stretch.

`

# ansible-inventory -i ./production.aws\_ec2.yml --list

[WARNING]: \* Failed to parse /path/to/production.aws\_ec2.yml with aws\_ec2
plugin: **init** () got an unexpected keyword argument ‘cert\_file’

[WARNING]: Unable to parse /path/to/production.aws\_ec2.yml as an inventory
source

[WARNING]: No inventory was parsed, only implicit localhost is available

`

I don’t know where the cert\_file argument is coming from! Any help?
