# Can vmware\_inventory.py get a bump from the ansible/contrib/inventory tree?

[https://github.com/ansible/ansible/blob/devel/contrib/inventory/vmware\_inventory.py](https://github.com/ansible/ansible/blob/devel/contrib/inventory/vmware_inventory.py) is getting some attention and works great on its own so far and it beats adding it as a custom script for now.

Usually these things go through extensive testing… we tend to want to verify that all of our credentials still work right with it.
