> That looks really cool @cybette What board games do you like to play?

One that we spend a lot of time on (partly because all the scenarios are very elaborate and time consuming, partly because I enjoy it) is [Mansions of Madness](https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/mansions-of-madness-second-edition/). Generally I like co-operative games, and things involving solving mysteries/puzzles, so [Unlock!](https://www.spacecowboys.fr/unlock-english) (and other “escape room” type) games are usually fun for me. [Wingspan](https://stonemaiergames.com/games/wingspan/) is a family favourite, cool theme and gameplay even though it’s competitive.

Here’s (part of) [our boardgame collection](https://twitter.com/cybette/status/1273988419216162816).

(Mod - I moved this to a new topic 😛 )

Also a big fan of co-op games, although the risk is that one player who knows the game well can dominate. I really like [Battlestar Galactica](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/37111/battlestar-galactica-board-game) for that, since _most_ of it is co-op but 1-2 are traitors 🙂. [Pandemic](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/30549/pandemic) is a classic (I have the first Legacy game waiting for my group to work through), and [Mice & Mystics](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/124708/mice-and-mystics) has a more RPG-ish feel. Or just go for [Arkham Horror](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/15987/arkham-horror) if you having nothing to do for 6 hours (not played that since my kids were born, lol)

[Meadow](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/314491/meadow) is one I’ve been playing with my eldest kid, and [Sleeping Queens](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/17053/sleeping-queens) with the youngest. [A Little Wordy](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/335869/little-wordy) is **brilliant**. [Clank](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/201808/clank-deck-building-adventure) and [Legendary Encounters](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/146652/legendary-encounters-alien-deck-building-game) are fun deck-builders. Worker-placement is fun too, such as [Lords of Waterdeep](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/110327/lords-waterdeep) or [Viticulture](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/183394/viticulture-essential-edition)… I’m sure I can add more 🤔

Oh, and I GM for a D&D group sometimes too 🧙

I usually go in for the classics like cluedo and monopoly even though I can see why you might not like them. I do like [Dixit](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/39856/dixit) and [Catan](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/13/catan) a lot. [Cat crimes](https://www.thinkfun.com/products/cat-crimes/) is a recent one that we’ve been enjoying in my family. We also play [Blokus](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2453/blokus) and [Qwirkle](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/25669/qwirkle) pretty regularly. Trivial pursuit and scrabble are also favourites. Buckaroo is fun too, call me a philistine all you want.

Big Fan here, I am the the resident board game hoarder in my social circle. I love Brass: Birmingham. I generally prefer worker placement, and have gotten some like Flamecraft as fun games as well.

I am lucky enough to live in Indianapolis and have gone to 10 GenCons, Though the next one will be in August

I love board games, especially strategy-based ones like Catan and Carcassonne. Playing with friends always leads to intense but fun competition. Recently, I’ve been trying to learn more cooperative board games. Do you have any recommendations for a great two-player game? Looking forward to hearing what everyone enjoys playing!

Here are some of my favourite 2-player co-ops:

1. Chronicles of Crime (with various expansions)
2. Unlock (escape room type games)
3. Mansions of Madness (need to invest lots of time to learn, setup, and play; but rewarding)
4. Forbidden Island (if you want an easy and quick game to warm up with)
5. The Crew: Mission Deep Sea (another easy and fast game, and you can log your missions with different “crews” - i.e. combination of players)

By the way, if anyone here is also into RuneScape, I recently discovered a great [toplist rsps](https://rsps-server.com/) platform — lots of active servers and communities that make the game even more engaging.

Nice! Brass: Birmingham is such a brilliant worker placement game — the economic tension and network building really keep you on your toes. Flamecraft is a fun lighter alternative too; the art and whimsical mechanics make it a great filler between heavier games.

Wow, 10 GenCons is impressive! I bet you’ve seen some amazing prototypes and rare finds there over the years. August can’t come soon enough for the next one!
